Throughout the year, Créneau hosts international volunteers for a period of 3-12 months. Most of them are 18-26 years old and participate in the European Voluntary Service or OFAJ (French-German network for Youth) programme. Volunteers arrive and leave in turns, which give opportunity for new-comers to adapt themselves in the team and learn from those with longer experience.
Volunteers participate in all activities of the organisation – manual work, collective life, intercultural activities as well as in the field of “public relations” – youth forums, information days, local events, etc. The relative isolation is compensated by the presence of a permanent team on site and people or groups hosted regularly, in addition to this there are a certain number of links with cultural associations, and local sporting centres.
During their stay in Créneau, volunteers have an opportunity to improve their language (French, English) skills, participate in the collective life and workcamps, learn how to live and work together, and most of all – learn about themselves.
