The castle of Prureaux is an open place, giving opportunity to anybody to participate, learn how to live and work together in spite of linguistic, socio-cultural, socio-economic differences and most of all – prejudices existing in the society.
The main activities are the renovation and maintenance of the site. It consists of:
„workcamp”: internal and external masonry, painting, woodwork, etc.;
traditional artisanal activities: basketry, bread baking, animal breeding, gardening, etc.
Workcamp is used as a tool to learn how to work together in spite of social, cultural or linguistic differences. The castle site gives the main support for these activities, also contributing to the social, economic and cultural development of the region.
This place gives an unique opportunity to everybody who comes from near and far to share and experience the collective life. The diversity of people living in the castle is very enriching and helps to learn how to live together, exchange on different habits and traditions, get to know oneself and others, as well as live in respect and tolerance.
